What happens when you are wanting to get away, but can’t leave the city? A city staycation! Most Chicagoans forget that they can escape for a weekend right in their neighborhoods and feel revived, well rested and ready for another week of work. So, that is exactly what the boy and I did. We needed a mini vacation and that’s what we truly got a weekend “away” in the city at the Hotel Allegro.
We checked in after work on Friday (their lobby is AMAZING) then made our way upstairs to change for dinner at 312 Chicago. With the mini bar stocked, we broke out the wine and celebrated the relief we felt after a long week of work.
Then we were off to 312 Chicago! Literally a 2-minute walk from Hotel Allegro. Very convenient for travelers, but also lovely for our brutal Chicago winters. The staff was amazing and the food was wonderful. After we were almost too full to walk out, we made our way to Flight Club that recently opened in the Loop. The atmosphere was upbeat and fun; boy did we have a fun time. Who knew playing darts could be so competitive? At Flight Club, a waiter caters to your dart area, so you don’t have to worry about going up to a bar to get drinks or food. Love it! The dart game itself is extremely modern; you can choose different games to play, have multiple players…etc. an hour flew by for us, so if you are going on a date night, I highly recommend at least 2 hours of game time.
When we got back to Hotel Allegro we decided to opt for a nightcap at the bar in the lobby. A perfect way to end our evening.
Hotel Allegro exceeded our expectations for a Chicago Staycation. It is a must try!
